Does my child need speech therapy?

We know that about 15% of children will be late to talk, however most will catch up. What we don’t know is which children, about 4%, will continue to have difficultly speaking and understanding words. There are many reasons that your child may be late to talk, from ongoing ear infections to not having enough opportunities to listen and learn.

What we know from research is that the earlier you get help for you and your little one, the better the outcome will be.

It’s important to remember that all children develop at different rates. The links below give you a general guide as to when it may be time to get an extra bit of advice about your child’s language development.
